5 Appendix

Contour plots and radial profiles  The following figures show in the top panel selected cuts parallel to the major axis (full line) as well as the best fit model (dashed line) according to Table 2. The bottom panel shows isophote maps of the surface brightness for the galaxies, rotated to the major axis. The faintest plotted contour is defined by a 3$\sigma$ criterion of the background. Table 1 lists the name (1), image (2), and the vertical positions of the plotted profiles parallel to the major axes in arcsec (3).
