Abstract:

We inspected a sky region with declination range of [ $0\hbox{$^\circ$ }$ , $-18\hbox{$^\circ$ }$ ] based on the SERC EJ plate copies. As a result a list of 50 nearby dwarf galaxy candidates with angular diameters $\geq 0\hbox{$.\mkern-4mu^\prime$ }5$ is presented. Most of the galaxies have low and very low surface brightness. More than 60% of the objects are detected for the first time.
